Humane Nuisance Wildlife Removal Service

We offer solutions for how to get rid of Bats, Squirrels, Honey Bees, Raccoons, Armadillos, Skunks, Opossums, and other Nuisiance Wildlife

What is Wildlife Removal? This entails the removal of animals that posed a nuisance to our personal environment. This includes removal of animals such as bats, raccoon, squirrel, honey bees, armadillo etc. Removal of wildlife is not limited to these mentioned animals, but any animal at large that constitutes a problem or interrupts our everyday activities. The discomforting fact about these animals is that they are noisy, destructive in nature and they just move into your house without permission. Dead animal removal falls under this category because we don’t know what would have caused the death of these animals and they could either have been killed by poison or diseases. If we let such dead animals lay around they could prove harmful to us.

Households that have children or infants need to take more care when it comes to wildlife removal because unlike adults, children or infants don’t know how dangerous these animals could be and they end up playing around with them. Besides inflicting physical injuries on children, exposure to them could make children ill, and since they wouldn’t be able to explain the cause of the illness, we would end up going on a wild goose chase about its cause.

Bat removal requires location of bats or signs of bat habitation in awkward locations such as attics, chimney and abandoned garages. Besides bats, raccoons also find solace in quiet and dark places where they can just make their home. Raccoon removal should also be considered when removing bats from your house. All openings or holes that give these animals access to your house needs to be found and covered. Animals that creep up to your roof and end up dying there can decay and cause foul odor all around the house, so they also need to be traced and removed as well.

Unlike bats and raccoons, squirrels and armadillo reside outside the house, just around in the garden or in holes made by them in the lawn. Squirrels can also be found in the attics and chimneys of houses. Squirrel removal also involves searching the house to locate any of such, although they tend to be very fast and jumpy, so care should be taken when trying to rid them to avoid damaging properties. Honey bee removal needs adequate knowledge of how to go about it, though it might seem like an easy task considering the fact that you don’t have to search for the honey bees, but they attack when they are stimulated.

Wildlife removal requires the help of professionals like Wildlife Abatement who after ridding your house and environment of these animals also guide you towards methods to adapt to be able to prevent them from your surroundings, especially in Louisiana and Mississippi. Some of these animals might not be harmful in any way but they constitute noise and if not properly handled would begin to multiply in their numbers. Adequate measure should be taken to prevent this from happening in our living space because our home is supposed to be comfortable for us.

We are available and ready for Nuisance Wildlife Removal and to remove any animals from the living space of your home. We will also do a thorough inspection of your home and attic and determine now the animal may have found a way inside your home. We have an Emergency Response Trailer specifically outfitted for Nuisance Wildlife Removal.

Armadillos are one of the few animals who consume fire ants as part of their normal diet. Such an ability can surely make armadillos very beneficial to humans.

Armadillos have four babies at a time, always all the same sex. They are perfect quadruplets, the fertilized cell split into quarters, resulting in four identical armadillos.

Armadillo Removal is one of our many Wildlife Pest Control specialties and many an armadillo have been trapped by us in the Shreveport Bossier City Metropolitan area. Give a crew of Landscape Professionals a carefully devised plan, a wad of your hard-earned cash and a week to accomplish their mission to convert your yard into a awe-inspiring spectacle and an armadillo can turn it all into a pile of dirt and holes in a few nights in search mainly of insects although they do eat some plants, eggs, lizards and other things.

Humane Armadillo Removal Questions and Armadillo Information

Why do armadillos dig holes under my house?

Armadillos dig holes in the ground called burrows or dens. These armadillo dens are used as shelter and can be up to 15 feet deep and 15 feet long.

Why do the armadillos dig small holes all over my yard?

Armadillos feed on small insects like grubs and worms. They dig small holes in your yard, mulch, garden, ext to seek out their food source.

If I leave the armadillo alone will it just go away?

No. Armadillos usually have more than one den. If you do not see any activity for a while the armadillo is probably in another den. Leaving this den open can lead to that armadillo coming back or another armadillo making it his/her home. The most effective way to get rid of the armadillo is by trapping and then filling in its den.

Why should I bother with armadillo removal?

Armadillos can be very destructive. The holes they dig in your grass to find their food can destroy a yard in very little time. The holes they dig under your home and can weaken the structure. Bushes, sidewalks and sheds can cave in from an armadillo den. The armadillo can burrow under your foundation, weaken its footing and cause your foundation to CRACK as a result. Even worse, the burrow could case water to run off into it and the dirt that gets eroded away could cause way more than a little crack. Just remember your house’s foundation is sitting on that dirt!

Will mothballs get rid of armadillos?

No. There are some repellants for armadillos that can help in preventing an armadillo in taking residence but the only true way to get rid of them are by trapping.

How exactly do you trap an armadillo?

We use Live traps to capture the armadillo and use a system which utilizes no bait so there are fewer incidental catches such as raccoons, opossum or feral cat when we are targeting armadillo removal from your yard.

What is a good armadillo recipe?

OK, trick question, you have eaten ”Armadillo Eggs” before, right? They are Delicious! Look up the recipe after you call and schedule us to remove your armadillo problem. Although it has been said that armadillo “taste like chicken” I’ve also heard it is the “poor man’s pork” or the “poor man’s pig”. There was a time (or it may still exist) when “Hoover Hog” was table fare for many Americans. What ever the truth really is, I personally can not attest to the taste of an armadillo. Contracting leprosy from handling the armadillo is enough of a chance to take without throwing one on the grill and making “Armadillo on the Half-shell” out of it. As for me, I’ll stick to beef, pork and chicken!

Can I just shhot the armadillo?

Well you can break a few laws and really aggravate the neighbors with a spotlight and a shotgun in the middle of the night and maybe end up in jail or you can call a licensed and insured nuisance wildlife control professional to handle the armadillo removal problem for you by trapping and relocating the armadillo. We use live cage-type traps to capture the armadillo and transport it to our relocation property. Various types of cage traps can be utilized but they must be strong. An armadillo can destroy an inexpensive trap such as what you might find at your local home center or farm supply store. We use professional grade traps, some of which are specifically designed for armadillo capture. The type of trap is dependent on the situation in which we are setting the trap.

How can I keep armadillos out of my yard and off my property?

The first thing you may want to do is to trap the critter and have it relocated to a more suitable environment away from your home then have us evaluate your property for possible exclusion of all digging animals by the installation of a digging barrier. Keep reading below for more about digging barriers…

How can I keep armadillos from digging under my fence, under my deck, or under my house? The first sign of a squirrels in the attic is usually the sound of scampering during the day, as they come and go on foraging trips.

Avoid using poison to kill squirrels in the attic. A poison treatment presents a secondary danger to pets and humans in the house.

Do you have squirrels nesting in the attic? Squirrels prefer to nest in cavities like attics, roof spaces, between floors, in firewood stoves, in chimneys, in fireplaces and in other areas that are off the ground. Squirrels are very opportunistic and can make their nest out of things like cardboard, newspaper, leaves, cloth, vapor barrier and attic insulation. At times we even find where a squirrel prefers your neighbor’s insulation and takes it next door to build its nest. Evidence is there when the nest is made of insulation of a different color than what is typically found in your attic! The line of thinking is that the new mother was born in the attic next door but that attic now has another family in it. The best she could do was to bust into your attic and use bedding materials she is familiar with from the house next door.

How Do I Get Rid Of Skunks

We are a Shreveport Louisiana professional, insured, and licensed by Louisiana Department of Fish and Wildlife Skunk Removal Company. We are NOT an exterminator or pest control company that will spray repellents. We provide skunk removal and relocation services and take pride in not killing wildlife, unless when euthanizing because of injury or disease that may harm other wildlife and people.

Common Louisiana Skunk Problems

Skunks digging under my deck

Skunks living under a shed

Skunks getting into my garden

Skunk spraying dog or cat

Skunk smell or odor in my house

Skunks digging holes in my yard

Skunk in a crawlspace

Skunks odor under or in my house

Skunks are one of the easiest nuisance animals to identify because of there white strips down there back. Also most people identify skunks with pungent odor they can release when scared or startled. With more Shreveport and Bossier City neighborhood developments moving into previously rural forest areas more wildlife conflicts are created. Skunks commonly will come in contact with pets, more so dogs that are interested in the skunks. This can result in the pet being sprayed and the odor being smelled for a good distance around. When you see a skunk the best thing to do is slowing move away and if with a pet secure the pet and try and avoid letting the animal contact the skunk.
Best known for its strong smell, the skunk is often looked upon as a rather unpleasant animal. Skunks are omnivores, meaning that they can eat almost anything to survive. Food sources for skunks in our area of Louisiana are plentiful, but with the rapid development of the Shreveport Bossier City area the skunks’ habitat is becoming scarce. For this reason skunks have adapted to the suburban environment and typically live under decks, sheds and additions. When left alone they won’t cause much of a problem, but when threatened by another animal or during the skunk’s mating season they will spray their strong musk and cause an enormous problem for the homeowner. Call us today at (318)553-3006 for fast, reliable skunk removal.

Wildlife Abatement also provides skunk odor removal services to completely deodorize areas that skunks have sprayed

Killing moles using poisons can be dangerous due to the fact that a household pet could get a hold of a poisoned mole and become poisoned and possibly die. Pest Control Companies like to use poisons, however most Professional Wildlife Removal Companies use traps and repellents.

Trapping a mole can be extremely difficult without a level of experience and know how. Rob McKay with Wildlife Abatement can trap and remove the moles. Allowing a professional to handle your mole control issue is the best way to be assured of a successful mole evacuation.

Northwestern Louisiana is home to one member of the pocket gopher family, the Baird’s Pocket Gopher, geomys breviceps which females can breed and deliver two litters of 1-4 young or simply twice a year in January and September. So anyone can expect an increase in activity as the nursing mother requires more nourishment to nurse her young and then the young leaving the nest and searching for their own little plot of land area to destroy the roots of grass and garden bulbs. We know how to get rid of gophers and moles. We offer complete gopher trapping removal service.

How Do I Get Rid Of Dead Animals & Dead Smell

There is no way to flower this statement up, Dead Animal Removal is a nasty job. We do the job you don’t want to do by removing and disposing of dead animal carcasses. We are capable of removing dead deer, cattle, cows, horses, donkeys, etc. Large and heavy animals are no obstacle. Call us to handle your problem and we will remove the animal carcass and dispose of it properly in accordance with State Guidelines. Call us today at (318)553-3006 for fast reliable Dead Animal Removal

We dispose of animal carcasses in a sanitary manner and are respectful of any sensitivities your family may have. If you have a dead pet, we can help you remove and bury or transport it to its final resting place or pet crematory, you can count on us.

Wildlife Abatement can locate and remove a dead animal from a wall. We have video cameras that can go into the wall or attic and locate the dead animal. The dead animal then needs to be removed to get rid of the dead smell.

Unfortunately, there comes a time when all good things must come to an end. OK, so maybe a rat isn’t such a good thing, but none the less, it must perish just as all living creatures do. Why the rodent picked your house to die in, we may never know. Sometimes squirrels find their way into the attic and fall down between the wall studs. For some critters, that is the end; they can’t climb up the wall so they eventually die. If you act quickly we can get it out alive, but if it is too late and now things are starting to smell we can help you with that problem too. With the assistance of a FLIR E30 Thermal Imaging Camera we can find a squirrel, raccoon, or even rat or mouse pups before they die from starvation or dehydration and eventually die and stink up your home. When dead animals are the issue, we can locate and remove the carcass then disinfect and deodorize the area like it was never there. If your neighbor did you a favor and trapped and killed a skunk for you (and it returned the favor by spraying him) we can take care of the dead animal removal too. Our job is to return things back to normal with as little impact on your routine as possible.

How Do I Get Rid Of Sasquatch

We not only offer Sasquatch Removal and Control, but we believe that we at Wildlife Abatement may well be the #1 Bigfoot Removal and Prevention Service in all of Louisiana.

Bigfoot, also known as sasquatch, is the name given to an ape-like creature that some people believe inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term sasquatch is an anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq’ets.

Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal, because of the lack of physical evidence and the large numbers of creatures that would be necessary to maintain a breeding population. A few scientists, such as Jane Goodall, Grover Krantz, and Jeffrey Meldrum, have expressed interest and some measure of belief in the creature. Call us today at (318)553-3006 for fast, reliable Sasquatch Removal.

But if you happen to be having issues with the legendary Sasquatch give us a call immediately, if not sooner!! Do not attempt to trap this creature, besides being dangerous it smells awful. Once that smell gets you on you it can’t be washed off!!

If you see a footprint of this size on your property there are two possible scenarios, you either have a Sasquatch on your property or Shaquille Oneal is hanging out. Please Note: We do not offer Shaq Removal Services, Only Sasquatch Removal. Shaq is not dangerous but we have heard that he smells bad and should not be approached. Please give us a call for all of your Sasquatch Removal needs.
